How should the truffles be stored?
Yvan Valentin truffles have no preservatives and should be stored in a cool place away from sunlight. A wine cellar, wine refrigerator or similar environment is ideal, but a refrigerator also works well. Place the box in a sealed plastic bag to protect the truffles from odors. They have a refrigerated shelf life of approximately 45 days.
Can I customize each box to receive a variety of truffles?
If you would like a variety of truffles, you can order a Mixed Box. Due to the box design, we cannot accommodate multiple flavor requests in the ½ and 1 pound boxes.
Are your chocolates all natural?
Yes, our chocolates are all natural and made with no additives, preservatives or chemicals.
Does your chocolate contain dairy products, nuts or gluten?
Yes. Anyone with a dairy, nut or gluten allergy should not consume our products. While the truffles are gluten-free (they are not dairy or nut free), all of the chocolates are made at a facility that processes gluten, dairy products and nuts.
Are your chocolates vegan?
The chocolate bars are vegan but the truffles are not (they contain cream). Both are made at a facility that processes non-vegan products.
When and how do you ship?
All orders are shipped on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays only to ensure the chocolates arrive as fresh as when they leave our kitchen. Most local Southern California customers will receive their chocolates the following day (via UPS); all other orders are shipped 2nd day air. We currently do not offer overnight shipping.
Typically, orders placed before 1 PM Pacific Standard Time (4 PM Eastern) on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, should arrive within 2 business days (1 business day for local customers). Orders placed after 1 PM PST (4 PM Eastern), will ship the next possible business day. Except Wednesdays; those orders will hold until the following Monday for arrival on the following Wednesday.
All orders up to 4 total pounds will be charged a flat $10 shipping fee. Orders between 4 and 10 pounds will be charged $20. For shipments to Alaska and Hawaii, an additional charge of $15 will be applied to your order for overnight shipping. We currently do not ship to Canada or internationally, and cannot ship to PO Boxes.
Please note: As our truffles are crafted by hand, we cannot guarantee all orders placed before 1 PM will arrive in two days during our busiest holiday seasons (mid November through New Year’s Day; early February through Valentine’s Day). Some orders will ship the following day to arrive in 3 business days from the time the order was placed. Please plan your order accordingly.
To ensure the chocolates are not affected by heat, we also do not ship during the summer months. The date we stop/begin shipping again varies, depending on the weather in Los Angeles and elsewhere.
What are the ordering deadlines for shipping?

Next Day: For overnight delivery, a phone order is required. Please call for shipping rates. We currently do not offer Saturday delivery.
Can my order be held to ship at future date?
Yes. During Checkout, after you select the method of shipping, note the week of preferred delivery in the Comments box. While this will confirm the delivery week, please note that it does not guarantee a specific day for arrival.

How far in advance should I place an order for wedding and event favors?
We recommend you place your order 4 weeks before the event and make a note of the required delivery date in the comments section. The shipping limitations above still apply. Please make arrangements to properly store the chocolates as well.
Do you offer customized packaging for wedding and event favors?
At this time we only offer the packaging shown on the website and cannot accommodate custom orders.
Can I visit the chocolate factory when I am in Los Angeles?
We currently are not open to the public but greatly appreciate the support and hope to accommodate tours in the future.
